Daily Action Drove 20,000 Calls to Congress on Thursday Alone

WASHINGTON, DC — Congress was flooded with nearly 20,000 angry constituent phone calls today after news broke that Attorney General Sessions met with the Russians during the 2016 campaign and perjured himself in his confirmation hearing by denying any such meetings. Feeling the heat from their constituents, more and more Republican Senators called for Sessions’ recusal and now Sessions says he will recuse himself.

“America is watching, and we are not going to let President Trump and his allies sweep their Russia problem under the rug. Between the angry crowds back home and thousands of constituent calls flooding their offices, Americans are forcing congressional Republicans to break with their leadership,” said Daily Action founder Laura Moser, whose service has connected 516,000 calls to protest President Trump’s policies and appointees.

“Our calls are working, but recusal is not enough. Passing this off to an underling is not going to cut it and we will not let up until there is a truly independent investigation or Sessions resigns,” said John Burton, Political Director for Daily Action, which is demanding a special prosecutor and an independent bipartisan Senate select committee investigation, similar to the 9/11 investigation.

Daily Action is a service to make phone call activism easier than ever for Americans concerned about the direction our country is taking. Since it launched less than three months ago, it has connected 516,000 calls (most of those to Congress). More than 65,000 of those calls to Congress were specifically to protest Sessions, including nearly 20,000 calls on Thursday alone.

The brainchild of Washington, DC based writer and mom, Laura Moser, Daily Action is produced in collaboration with Creative Majority PAC and powered by Revolution Messaging’s Revere calling technology.

Subscribers receive a daily text message about an important issue and a hotline number they simply click to call. They click the number and listen to a recorded summary of the issue, then callers are automatically connected to their lawmaker or the target of the action. Actions and talking points on the issues are also shared on the Daily Action Facebook page. Daily Action provides subscribers with concrete, quick ways to fight back, taking all the effort out of registering DAILY opposition to the extreme policies and appointees of the incoming administration.
