WhiteHouseInc.org Calling Tool Connected Frustrated Americans With Trump’s Businesses

Washington, DC — For the last month, frustrated Americans trying to call the White House to express their anger at President Trump’s extremist policies have been out of luck. While Trump was issuing controversial executive orders and nominations of unqualified millionaires and Wall Street executives, the White House Comment line was off, leading to a dead end message. The digital team behind Bernie Sanders 2016 campaign heard their frustration and offered a workaround.

WhiteHouseInc.org has connected over 35,000 calls to Trump’s businesses all over the world.

“Trump Inc. apparently didn’t like Americans calling their businesses in lieu of the White House,” said Scott Goodstein, co-founder of Creative Majority PAC and CEO of Revolution Messaging. “After we connected about 25,000 calls they tried to shut us down, contacting the police and the phone company, but they couldn’t stop it. Trump brought this on himself and his businesses when he and his family failed to divest from his companies as other Presidents have done.”

Creative Majority PAC  and Revolution Messaging, known for its digital services for campaigns like Bernie Sanders’ presidential run and Kamala Harris for Senate, originally launched WhiteHouseInc.org in late 2016 to pressure Trump to divest from his business interests before taking office. The site spread purely through word of mouth and social media with no advertising dollars behind it.

“While we are glad they finally caved to the public’s demand for a direct line to the White House, the enormous problems and conflicts of interest that come with failing to divest or even make tax returns public remain,” added Goodstein. “Foreign leaders and Wall Street executives know that if they want to reach out to the President, they can just call his business associates. That will continue to be a problem for the rest of us everyday Americans who will always question what kind of ulterior motives and financial incentives may be at play behind the scenes.”

Since the Trumps have still not divested or even made their tax returns public, the team plans to continue to make the calling tool available to the public.
